What To Expect When Traveling Long Distance With Children
The first thing, most parents should look forward to on a trip with children is the question, “Are we there yet”? Children have little patience for being in the car, for any length of time. They become antsy and if there is more than one child, this is the perfect time for a heated argument to break out.
When traveling with your children, it is advisable to have a plan, before you leave. Packing a book bag full of activities is a great option. Fill their bag with snacks, as they will be hungry, and drinks as well. The book bag should have books, puzzles and games, as well as action figures or dolls. Most toy companies make travel size games, just perfect for occasions such as these.
Depending on the length of the trip, there will probably be moments of silence, when the children are sleeping. Make sure to have a small pillow and cover for them to settle in for a peaceful rest. If traveling on a plane, they offer movies, which may or may not be appropriate for children. A personal DVD player is another great option. They come with headphones and can literally make the trip seem quick, in the eyes of a child.
