What Qualifications Are Needed To Become A Flight Attendant ?
Travel industry jobs are fun and exciting ways to see the world and meet new people. Have you dreamed of a job as an airline flight attendant? If you are considering a job as a flight attendant there are a few things you should know to make an informed decision. Airlines have minimum requirements to even be considered for positions and candidates with special skills are preferred over others with minimal skills. Here is a list of things required by most airlines and some skills that will move you ahead of other candidates:
Minimum requirements:
18 to 21 years up to 55
High school diploma
English speaking
US citizen or legal resident alien
Willing to relocate
Neat, attractive appearance
No visible tattoos or piercings
Height/weight proportionate
Certain airlines may have height minimum
History of good health
Preferred skills or abilities:
Customer service training or experience
Some airlines prefer college degrees
Experience in a retail clothing store, waiting tables in a restaurant,
answering telephones in an office count as customer service related.
Fluency in other languages
Ability to acquire a passport for International travel
If offered a position, the company will perform a background check and physical examination and schedule you through a company-paid training program.
