Wi-Fi backhaul solution for airport Internet access “hot spots” in the airport terminal – including cafes, lounges and waiting areas – to network points-of-presence (PoPs).
RAD’s Airmux-200 wireless broadband multiplexer is especially suited for a Wi-Fi backhaul solution for airports, eliminating the delays and costs in establishing wireline backhaul infrastructure.
Broadband wireless connectivity enables airport authorities to rapidly provide a Wi-Fi backhaul solution for the establishment of Internet access points in disparate areas in the airport and its vicinity at a cost below that of leased lines or trenching new fiber or copper plant.
The Airmux-200 broadband wireless multiplexer supports 18 Mbps full duplex payload with a maximum reach of up to 80 km (50 miles) for 4.5 Mbps Ethernet.
Operating in the 5 Ghz frequency range, the Airmux-200 reduces the possibility of interference with Wi-Fi transmissions in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, further enhancing the advantageousness of wireless backhauling for Wi-Fi.
